Lesson 6: Choose the right keywords
Selecting high-quality keywords will help you connecting with the right audience, at the right time. Below are a few tips to help you get started.
1. Keep your keywords relevant
Include easy to target phrases that people would use to describe your products or services. Make sure they relate directly to the theme of your ad and the website you’re linking to.
2. Get suggestions for new keywords
Use Keyword Planner to help you pick keywords that make it easier for people to find your business when they’re searching by product, services, or location.
3. Add negative keywords
You can help reduce costs and prevent your ad from being shown to the wrong audience by adding negative keywords. For example, adding “candy” as a negative keyword will make sure that your ad for a chocolate doesn’t show up on any search containing “candy.”
